Help make addiction recovery possible

Each day is a gift

We may lose sight of this simple wisdom from time to time, but anyone who lives with addiction is acutely aware of how precious--and precarious--recovery and life can be. Indeed, one of the fundamental tenets of recovery is one day at a time--with a hope and belief that those days can and will add up.

Earlier this year, "a grateful mom" celebrated her daughter's 10th sobriety birthday.

What a gift--and accomplishment! Many of you know the feeling of pride, gratitude, and humility that this milestone can bring.

At some point in your life, you or your loved one may have been given the tools to help find freedom from addiction. We hope you have arrived at a place of greater serenity and joy because of those gifts. If so, we are asking you to share this experience with others.

Ten years ago we were immersed in fear, scurrying about to try to understand her addiction, find her hope. Then she was 19, worn to the bone, skin and bones, the bones of the child we loved. Now she is 29, educated, talented, successful, involved, married, and a mother. "Ten years ago we were immersed in fear, scurrying about to try to understand her addiction, find her hope. Then she  was 19, worn to the bone, skin and bones, the bones of the child we loved. Now she is 29, educated, talented, successful, involved, married, and a mother. For your part, with her and with others, I thank you."
