Residential Care for adults struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Extended care, as well as intermediate care, are additional residential options for people who have completed primary treatment either at Hazelden or elsewhere. Extended care is appropriate for people with complex recovery issues that require more time and focus on the issues identified in primary treatment. The extended care programs continue the work started in primary treatment allowing for more in depth time on special issues, mental health complications, relapse prevention and sober living skills. Hazelden's extended care services provide patients with the time to put into practice their new recovery skills and develop a deeper understanding of what they need to do to recover. All extended care programs in the Hazelden system are gender-specific.
