Brenda J. Iliff, Clinical Director, Women's Recovery Center
Clinical Director, Women's Recovery Center, Center City, MN

Brenda J. Iliff is the director of clinical services at Hazelden's new Women's Recovery Center in Center City, Minnesota. The center is designed specifically to address the unique needs of women in recovery. With a four-fold increase over the last six years in calls requesting treatment for women, the center will help Hazelden provide care to more women.

Hazelden has been a pioneer and leader in the treatment of women in recovery since it opened its first women-only center, Dia Linn, in 1956 in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Ten years later, the first women's unit was opened on Hazelden's Center City campus and the increase in demand for treatment for women has grown ever since.

Iliff has a Master of Arts in Counseling, a Bachelor of Arts in Chemical Dependency and Gerontology and an Associate of Arts degree in Behavioral Sciences. She has over 25 years in human services and over 17 years of administrative experience. She has worked in the addiction treatment field for over 15 years, both as a counselor and an administrator. She joined Hazelden in 1994 and served as executive director of Hazelden's Fellowship Club in St. Paul, Minn., for the past six years. While there she worked with people in early recovery.

Several years of clinical experience with women at all levels of care from assessment through continuing care enhance her leadership and expertise.

Iliff has written articles on women and recovery and also continuing care options. She speaks to professional audiences on women's recovery and has recently appeared on Air America radio and as a guest on local television programming.
