First-time and nonviolent chemically dependent offenders are frequently recommended for treatment instead of incarceration.

In this program for judges and other officers of the court you will:

• learn about the process of chemical addiction and recovery
• understand which treatment modalities are most appropriate for an addicted offender
• gain awareness of effective strategies to help offenders sustain recovery during the probationary period

We will accomplish this through lecture and discussion, and meeting with staff. Participants will also observe treatment and gain insights by integrating with patients in primary treatment.

Integration with staff and patients will be at the treatment facility for adults, in Center City.
