A small group of caring individuals invested their own dollars in 1949 to make the dream of a treatment center become a reality... where people affected by the disease of alcoholism could be treated with dignity and compassion as they began the journey of recovery.
Today, Hazelden is recognized as a world leader in addiction treatment and prevention programs. Its influence is seen not only in the changed lives of individuals, but in the professionalism brought to treatment and the expansion of services available to all alcoholics and addicts, their families and friends, and their communities.
The investments of those founding donors have paid immense benefits to individual lives and to society. The financial commitment of Medallion Society members will keep the promise of Hazelden alive for future generations. Membership in the Medallion Society is open to all who make a planned gift commitment to Hazelden Foundation and inform us of those plans.
