"I am sure that there are numerous others in the audience who are equally deserving of this award and I am speechless," Breyer said as she received the award. "With profound honor I accept this, with the hope that I might inspire others to pursue excellence in addiction treatment administration." "This award has grown out of our efforts to nurture excellence in addiction treatment administration and to develop professional collegiality among addiction treatment administrators," said Dr. Ronald J. Hunsicker, president and CEO of NAATP. "In recognizing the administrator of the year, we are recognizing the vision creators and sustainers of our field." Breyer is a member of the NAATP board and was recognized for her leadership to expand access to services that help people sustain recovery from addiction and for her ongoing outreach to engage government and business communities in the fight against this chronic disease. Ms Breyer has served as CEO of the Hazelden Foundation since 2002. The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) is a trade association representing over 300 of the best known providers of addiction treatment both in this country and internationally.
