Bookstore FAQs

Why do I need to register on the site before I can place an order?

Establishing an online account with Hazelden assures you that your purchasing information is secure, confidential and accessible to you.  Once you establish an account, you will only need to sign-in to place an order in the future, check on the status of your current order,  view past purchases or update your profile information.

I received a promotional offer and I want to place my order online. Can I?

Yes you can. During the checkout process, you will see an Enter Promotion Code button
(individual accounts) or an Enter Promotion Code link (business accounts). Simply enter your promotional code(s) in the field(s) provided and the right offer(s) will be applied.

My order hasn't arrived yet; can I check the status of my order online?

Yes. If you are Signed In to your account, click on Orders in the header above to review open order status.

How long does it take for delivery to US destinations?

For domestic shipments, please allow 5 to 15 days - for delivery.

How long does it take for delivery to International destinations?

When we ship orders to international destinations it can take 8-12 weeks when shipping surface postal mail, depending on final destination. Airmail can take 2-3 weeks. The charges for surface or airmail service, is based on the weight of the package.

I like the video clips; can I watch the entire video online?

Online video previews are short sample clips; the entire video is not available to view online. If you are interested in previewing a video in its entirety, please call us at 1-800-328-9000. Preview videos are shipped out to you at no charge, for a 30-day viewing.

What if I can't find what I'm looking for?

The best way to locate a product in the online bookstore is to use the Product Search functions located in the top navigation area of the bookstore. If you need further help, call us at 1-800-328-9000.

If you are looking for information on other Hazelden services or programs, type a keyword in the Search box in the upper right corner of any page on the Hazelden Web site. If you have a product catalog, you can order items by their item number in Online Quick Order.

Does Hazelden have distributors outside of the United Sates?

Hazelden has one distributor. Their shipping costs can be significantly lower if you are purchasing from or are shipping outside of the United States. For more information or how to order click here.

Do I have to use a credit card to order online? Are purchase orders accepted?

Most online orders require the use of a credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. However, if you have an established Hazelden business account authorized for Purchase Order use, a Purchase Order number is acceptable.

You must be registered on our site as a business or organization. We do no accept purchase orders from individuals or groups.

If you are using a Purchase Order, all orders over $500 require a hard copy Purchase Order faxed to 651-213-4793 with the online order number from your confirmation page referenced on it.

All orders placed are subject to the regular credit review process to verify credit status before orders are shipped.

How will Hazelden protect my anonymity?

Confidentiality is important to us. Hazelden respects your anonymity. Orders are sent in plain packages. We do not share our mailing list with any organization outside of Hazelden. If you wish to discontinue receiving catalogs or email from us, you can do so by changing your Preferences if you are logged in. Or, contact us at 1-800-328-9000, email us, or follow the "unsubscribe" directions on your next email message.

How do I receive a printed catalog?

Just fill out Request a Catalog form, email us at customersupport@hazelden.org, or call us at 1-800-328-9000.

When you place an order, you will automatically receive a catalog. If you wish to discontinue receiving Hazelden catalogs or email, you can update your information on your Preferences (if you are Signed In to the site) or contact us at 1-800-328-9000 or customersupport@hazelden.org.

How do I notify you of changes to my mailing address and email address?

If you wish to change any information on your customer profile, Sign In, and you can update your information on your Profile or contact us at 1-800-328-9000 or customersupport@hazelden.org.

What is the Book Aid Fund?

Hazelden Publishing gives recovery resources to individuals and agencies in need through the Hazelden Book Aid Program.

Searching for products within the bookstore

Browse: To find all published resources on a subject, click on the dark gray tabs in the upper navigation of the bookstore to search by marketplace and major subject area. Use the browser box on the left side of the screen to refine your search to specific topic areas.

Search Box: To optimize your search results, we suggest using a single, specific keyword word search term. Examples: Use the four-digit catalog number if your have it, or a specific word from the book's title, (such as Northland in the title Project Northland), or an author's last name. If you don't know specific information, type in a keyword such as parenting, Al-Anon, medallions, or meditation.

Advanced Search: To refine your search more specifically, click on the link to Advanced Search (to the right of the Hazelden logo above). Choose the category of product you're looking for from the dropdown menu and then enter a keyword.  You can also exclude words that are not relevant to your search or lead to too many results.

Some sections of our site, including our online bookstore, use "cookies" in order to offer more personalized service. Cookies are a feature of your browser that store small amounts of data on your computer about your visit to a site. Hazelden does not monitor or collect any data from cookies.
