  • Aches and pains Fatigue
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Edginess and agitation
  • Muscle tension

But once drug use stops, the client is left to face the traumatic memories. Addiction coupled with traumatic stress symptoms can be especially complex.

Integrated treatment simultaneously weaves the addiction treatment process with trauma-specific treatment approaches that best meet the needs of each individual patient.

Residential, gender-specific addiction treatment at Hazelden begins with a clinical care team developing a plan to address your specific recovery needs. Hazelden professionals in the fields of addiction counseling, psychology, psychiatry, medical services, spiritual care, family care, and wellness collaborate to provide you with the best foundation for lifelong recovery.

Treatment typically involves 4-6 weeks of residential care followed by extended care for 60 days or more. Support for continued progress in recovery Hazelden's goal for every patient is lifelong recovery, which is why a continuing care plan is part of every patient's treatment experience. In addition, some patients benefit from extended care treatment, a clinically integrated program that focuses on relapse prevention strategies and the transition back to homelife and community.

Extended care is typically a 60-day program but can be longer if clinically indicated.

Patients also benefit from Hazelden's interactive online My Ongoing Recovery Experience (MORE®) program at no additional cost. This comprehensive system of support keeps patients connected with Hazelden for the first 18 months of recovery through online education, assessments, and coaching, providing tools and guidance to continue the progress made in treatment. If more support is needed, Hazelden offers the Hazelden Connection. This 18-month, post-treatment recovery program provides ongoing accountability and monitoring to enhance participants' continuing care plan and promote lifelong recovery. The program includes coaching, accountability verification reports, and drug testing. Hazelden Connection is ideal for people facing legal issues, custody matters, or loss of professional license; people who have been in treatment multiple times; and students returning to college. The program also provides support to families and concerned others.
