Debra Jay is the author of It Takes a Family, A Cooperative Approach to Lasting Sobriety. This book introduces the Structured Family Recovery, a year-long program for addicts and their families.
Debra is also the coauthor of Love First: A New Approach to Intervention. Love First is the best-selling book on intervention since 2000. She is also the author of No More Letting Go: The Spirituality of Taking Action Against Alcoholism and Drug Addiction, and co-wrote Aging and Addiction: Helping Older Adults Overcome Alcohol or Medication Dependence.
Debra Jay and Jeff Jay have a national private practice, providing intervention and consultation services for families, as well as professional training for clinicians. She previously worked as an addiction specialist for Hazelden. She is a nationally known speaker and has been writing a newspaper column on alcohol and drugs since 1996. Debra has regularly appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
