This Focus on Integrated Treatment (FIT)
online course presents the steps, techniques and screening tools for the screening of substance use and mental health disorders. Participants will learn the domains of assessment, with a discussion of both the substance use domains and mental status examination. Barriers to effective screening and assessment are discussed as are methods for overcoming these barriers. Guidelines are also offered for assessing for specific psychiatric disorders and for distinguishing between feelings, symptoms, and disorders.
