Kids' Power is designed to help children from families of addiction develop healthy coping skills and know they are not alone.
Using games and other engaging activities, Kids' Power addresses important topics, including feelings, family, defense, problem solving, self-esteem, and more. The games help children from families of addiction--or other high stress situations--overcome the isolation, pain, shame, and embarrassment they may endure in their homes.
All of these games and activities have been kid-tested with young (ages 6-12) children. Some games work well with children as young as 3, and many are effective with adolescents. Each game cites the appropriate age group, gives a description, an example, affirmations, and materials required. Most are noncompetitive and stress cooperation, trust, and teamwork in an atmosphere where everyone wins.
These healing games help kids look at situations with safety and express things they wouldn't feel safe expressing any other way.
