Live and Learn: Deepen Your Daily Practice of Twelve Step Recovery

Center City, MN

DARC 2019 Weekend Retreat Banner

Twelve Step recovery is a spiritual program that follows a scientific process: try something new, record the results, reflect on the outcome, make needed adjustments and repeat the experiment with these new learnings. In this recovery retreat, we will dig into the practice of Twelve Step principles in our daily life, particularly Steps Four, Ten and Eleven. Paying attention to the results we get each time we act on our decisions aids our self-examination (Step Four). And our vigilance in continually "awakening" throughout the day and reflecting "when we retire at night" (as written in the directions for Steps Ten and Eleven) allows us to truly live and learn.

Fill out the perliminary registration form and we will contact you with final details.

Fred Holmquist

Fred Holmquist, author, educator and retired director of the Lodge Program at the Dan Anderson Renewal Center, has served in the field of substance use disorders for over 40 years. His core belief as a translator of Twelve Step principles and their literature is that he's building bridges from the knowledge base people already have to Twelve Step equivalents using examples from a variety of disciplines including medicine, theology, philosophy and the physics of hydrology and aviation. He currently lolls in the Florida sunshine chasing Walter Hagen with his wife, Page, and their tuxedo cat, Oliver.
