Call Hazelden's Chicago facility at 312-943-3534 to schedule an appointment for a pre-entry placement.
How much does the Recovery Home cost?
Please view our rate card. The first and last month's payment is due at the time of moving in.
Is Financial Aid available?
The amount of aid will be determined by the Financial Case Manager and will be based on need and dollars available at the time.
What is the expected length of stay?
A six (6) month length of stay is what is typically expected. A three (3) month length of stay is required of all residents. Financial Aid cannot be given to anyone who stays less than six (6) months.
What happens if the resident relapses?
We treat each case individually. However, it will be determined by the clinical staff if the client requires detoxification. All relapses require medical clearance prior to re-admission to the Recovery Home.
Can the resident return to the Recovery Home after recovery is re-stabilized?
Each person's circumstance will be considered individually.
How will medications be handled in the Recovery Home?
Each resident will be given a personal lockbox where medications and personal valuables will be stored. Each resident is responsible for storage, administration, and notification of staff of all medications being taken including over-the-counter and herbals.
Is employment required?
Yes. A minimum of 20 hours a week of employment, school or volunteering is required within 30 days of moving into the Recovery Home.
Is parking available?
No, but there are lots nearby that typically run about $180 per month.

What about meals?
A continental breakfast is provided daily as part of the per diem rate. The midday meal is the resident's responsibility off-site (at work/school). The evening meal can be ordered-in or prepared in microwaves provided in the dining room. Refrigerator and personal cupboard storage space is available for each resident. One community meal is provided each week at which all residents are expected to attend.
What kind of treatment is provided?
The Residence is NOT treatment. Each resident will be assigned a Coach. The resident will meet with the Coach weekly the first month and then once a month or more thereafter as needed.
Are mental health services available?
Yes, mental health services are available on-site. Referrals can also be made to a wide variety of community-based, addiction-knowledgeable providers.
Are there any amenities?
Absolutely. There is a studio fitness center on site, as well as a Business Center with computers that are Internet ready. Twenty-six Twelve Step meetings are held on site weekly.
Can residents attend Continuing Care?
Treatment is offered through another program at Hazelden. Each client is assessed prior to admission by a Clinical Case Manager and the appropriate level of care is recommended.
