Welcome to Second Sunday, your opportunity each month to:

Major John Donovan will speak on how military tactics, techniques and procedures increased the effectiveness of his recovery work, and how the principles of the recovery program helped him survive two combat tours to Iraq. Said Major Donovan, "It wasn't too long ago that many a soldier thought, 'I can't imagine going to war without drinking' and now thousands of soldiers like me think 'I can't imagine going to war without the program'."

Major John Donovan
Major John Donovan (Ret.) is in long-term recovery with over 40 years of sobriety. Sober for seven years, he joined the Armed Forces in his twenties with the intention of only serving four years—27 years later he retired. While in the military Major Donovan learned the value of incorporating military training into his personal recovery work. 

Hazelden's Second Sunday is held on our campus in Center City, Minnesota. Each event includes a lecture by staff or a guest speaker, as well as relaxation and group discussions open to anyone 18 years and older. Friends and family are always welcome to join you for the experience.
