Hazelden is built on a philanthropic tradition nearly sixty years in the making – shaped by caring individuals who share a vision for innovative care for alcoholics and addicts.

Because of the vision and generosity of Hazelden's founding donors, the Minnesota Model has its origins, our campuses and facilities have been built, and programs such as the Family Program, Butler Center for Research, Publishing, the Center for Public Advocacy, and the Graduate School of Addiction Studies have been born.

Hazelden is an IRS Code 501 (C)(3) nonprofit organization.
