Kris Van Hoof-Haines is vice president of Content Development and Training for Hazelden Publishing, one of the world's largest publishers of materials in print, video, and electronic form for people affected by substance abuse and addiction. Hazelden Publishing sells a wide range of materials to professional and consumer markets -- all aimed at helping people sustain lifelong recovery from addiction. Prior to her current position, Van Hoof-Haines was vice president of Strategic Initiatives for Hazelden Publishing, supervising the areas of strategic partnerships, new business development opportunities, grants development and management, product research and acquisition, and program training and consultation. She has worked for Hazelden for 10 years, serving in the roles of trainer, director of Training, director of Prevention, and vice president of Youth Continuum Services. Before joining Hazelden, her work experience has included serving as a senior trainer for the Midwest Regional Center for Drug-Free Schools and Communities, a student assistance program coordinator, a counselor for addicted adolescents and adults, a family-based interventionist, a university-level instructor, and an independent consultant. Van Hoof-Haines has a Master's degree in Alcohol and other Drug Counseling and has worked in the field of addiction and prevention for 15 years. |
