Hazelden Foundation is proud of its mission to help people find recovery from the disease of addiction

Lifesaver Patient Aid

Lifesaver Patient Aid is aptly named, for this funding really does save lives. While we do everything we can to keep costs down and keep treatment accessible for as many as possible, the fact is that comprehensive, multi-disciplinary treatment is expensive. Many who need care have inadequate resources or medical insurance, and the help provided by Lifesaver Patient Aid can mean the difference between despair and recovery.

Hazelden provides millions of dollars in patient aid each year, and our own funding is augmented by the generous donations of individuals, foundations, and corporations. Patient aid is allocated based on the patient's clinical and financial need. For information about the guidelines and determination of eligibility, read our full Patient Aid Policy.

"I would not be alive today without the support of everyone who contributed to the Patient Aid Fund. Whoever you are . . .you saved my life and I am thankful."

Campus Development

Major renovation is planned for patient units at Center City. We feel strongly that having comfortable, inviting accommodations for our patients helps convey dignity and respect which are an important aspect of the Hazelden experience.

Patient units are in need of substantial structural and aesthetic refurbishment including fire protection, security, and telecommunications updates.

Your gift will help us keep every Hazelden facility comfortable, safe, and attractive for patients and their families.

Continuing Care

Based on research demonstrating that longer engagements with patients yield stronger, more successful outcomes, Hazelden has launched a continuing care initiative, setting a new standard for ensuring sustained recovery.

Our vision is to surround patients with support following their primary treatment experience and to help them strengthen and sustain their recovery. Continuing recovery groups and publications, topic-specific workshops and retreats, and Big Book immersion experiences are offered at Hazelden's Dan Anderson Renewal Center and through the extended Lodge program.

These exciting and complex efforts draw upon Hazelden's unique combination of experience in treatment services, research, publishing, technology, and marketing

"The gift I received from Hazelden and the Donor Program is with me on a daily basis and it will be for the rest of my life - a life that they helped save. Thank you for giving me my life back ... Thank you for another day ..."
