Designed for use in K-6 classrooms, this research-based behavior management model increases student academic time by decreasing disruptive student behaviors. Its simple, effective, and (best of all) fun! Students are divided into teams that "compete" against each other to earn rewards for refraining from disruptive, inattentive, or aggressive behavior.
Benefits of Good Behavior Game:
- Meets standards. A way to meet state and national education mandates, such as Title 1 and Safe & Drug Free Schools, without losing academic learning time.
- Simple to learn. Everything a teacher needs is in the box.
- Fun. It is a game that children will love to play!
- Proven. Over 30 years of research. All the components in the game are based on research.
- Scalable. An individual teacher can use this tool on his or her own, an entire school can use it, or a school district can use it.
- Scheduling. No extra time is needed-teachers play the game while they are teaching.
- Special-needs appropriate. It works well with regular students, as well as, most special needs students or students who have English as a second language.
- 50% to 90% reduction in disruptive or disorderly behaviors in classrooms, hallways and other public spaces.
- 30% to 60% reduction in referrals, suspensions or expulsions
- 10% to 30% reduction in the need for special education services, while providing real support for special needs children in your classrooms.
- 50% reduction in the use of tobacco or other drugs over a child's lifetime, so that the next generation of children come to school with fewer problems.
- 25% more time for teaching and learning, amounting to the equivalent of another month or more of school for "free."
- 20% to 50% increase in children being fully engaged in learning.
- Stress-reduction. A major reduction in teacher's own stress level.
- Family support. A major improvement in family support for the classroom.
