An intensive experience that is based on personal interaction with patients and staff

The program is designed for the helping professions - mental health practitioners, psychologists, LMFTs, LPCs, social workers, and employee assistance professionals - who see the impact of alcohol and drug abuse in their own fields and want to be better equipped to deal with it in their own communities.

From admissions to continuing care, the Recovery Services program provides a firsthand look at the Hazelden model of addiction treatment.

What you'll learn: 

• how the disease of addiction affects the person mentally, physically and spiritually
  
• The Hazelden model of treatment
  
• the challenges presented by co-occurring disorders
  
• how your specialty functions in an interdisciplinary team to treat addiction
  
• observing both patients and staff in the treatment setting
  
• how the Twelve Steps work as a behavioral change model
