What to bring/What not to bring

Local accommodations

Visiting hours
After the first three days of their stay, patients may receive visitors on Sundays from noon until 4:00 p.m. Lunch is served at 12:30 p.m. in the cafeteria and visitors are allowed to purchase a lunch and eat with the patient. *See information about gifts below.

Phone calls
During their first three days, patients may receive only one phone call. After that time, family and friends may call 503-538-0900 to leave voicemail messages for patients who can then return the call later from a pay phone. Messages are distributed at least three times daily; some times include 12:45 p.m., 5:45 p.m., and 10:15 p.m. Please call the nurses' station only in the event of an emergency. If it is not an emergency you will be directed to use the voicemail.

Gifts and letters

  • Not allowed: food, beverages, fruit baskets, or books
  • Allowed: flowers, stuffed animals, balloons, cards, and letters

If you wish to bring an item for a patient, please take it to the main reception building and it will be delivered by a staff member to the residential unit where it will be given to the patient. After 5:00 p.m. during the week and on weekends (including Visiting Hours) all items for patients should be brought to Nursing. Under no circumstances can items go directly to the patient from a person who is not on staff. If dropping off an item, you will not be allowed to visit with the patient unless it is cleared in advance through the patient's case manager. If you would like to see a case manager, please call for an appointment before you arrive, otherwise a case manager may not be available to see you.
