Hazelden Betty Ford's world renowned Family Program is in Newberg, OR!

When a loved one struggles with substance use, families often feel exhausted, confused, and unsure where to turn. You may have tried everything to help, only to feel stuck, asking yourself: How did this happen? or What do I do now?

You're not alone in these questions. Many families receive advice that doesn't work or hear phrases like "let them hit rock bottom" without knowing what that really means. It can be frustrating and isolating.

That's Why We Created the Family Program.

Our Family Program is designed specifically for family members who have loved ones facing substance use disorder and/or co-occurring mental health challenges. Through this program, you'll gain:

  • Evidence-based tools and insights to understand substance use and mental health.
  • Practical skills to support positive change and set healthy boundaries.
  • Confidence in navigating the unknowns of the recovery journey.
  • We encourage you to watch our orientation videos: https://www.hazelden.org/store/events/27
  • Participate in visitation with your loved one daily (if applicable, 4:00 - 4:45 p.m.)

You'll also have the chance to practice communication strategies, plan for challenges, and connect with others who truly understand what you're going through.

What to expect:

  • Process your emotions in a safe, supportive environment.
  • Connect with other families and realize you're not alone.
  • Hear directly from current patients (non-related) about their treatment experiences, challenges, and breakthroughs.
  • Gain clarity and hope that's often hard to find when speaking only with your loved one.

All of this takes place on the beautiful Newberg Hazelden Betty Ford campus, offering a space for healing, learning, and connection.
