A Program for Addiction Professionals

Training Agenda

Cognitive-Behavioral Thearapy for PTSD: A Program for Addiction Professionals is a research-driven for persons with trauma-related psychological symptoms or a DSM-V5 diagnosis of PTSD. The program is intended for use with persons with PTSD and co-occurring drug and/or alcohol use disorders who are being treated in traditional addiction treatment programs.  

Training Objectives
At the completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the prevalence of trauma and PTSD
  • Identify the main principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy
  • Identify key symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Apply the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for PTSD program
  • Explore methods to monitor competence and adherence
  • Develop a next-step action plan to guide the implementation of the program
